VFX Cinematography - My Last Two
After creating a fair few cinemagraph's, I want to move on to something more difficult for me; something new.
I created these last two because I thought they showed off my skills of creating them and where i can learn and go from here.
Firstly, I created one more with the sea involved. I liked this because it was very challenging to be able to get the sea to loop properly as it is so unpredictable. I thought this shot really showed off my cinematography skills with selecting whats in the shot and the layout of it. I love how both the walls seem to guide your eyes to the only moving object, which is subtle, but noticeable. However, the cinemagraph isn't entirely perfect because it would not let me roto exactly the pole moving because of the freeze frame underneath; they would cross over. If i wanted to create this scene, i would have to entirely take the pole out and add it in post.
I loved this shot, but I do think it needs a bit more light, maybe on a sunnier day.
My final cinemagraph is also my favourite one. I think this one is very well done, with colour being perfectly, and it being well shot. I think the loop is perfect and was especially difficult because it was impossible to keep the glass dead still as it swirled, but I managed to achieve it.
The only thing I can spot which is just a learning curve for next time is the beans and the logo on the glass which moves slightly as the drink swirls. To overcome this I would have to use a glass that has no label on and add the label or product over the top.
